Former NFL players reveal the role of HGH and Testosterone in their successful treatment of concussion related symptoms
Indianapolis, IND (February 2, 2012)
The P.A.S.T. Retired Athlete Medical Group that provides fully integrated medical care to retired athletes including NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB players announced today the launch of a comprehensive concussion treatment program that will be made available to all retired NFL players and other former athletes. The program is solely focused on the reduction of symptoms and restoration of quality of life.
Also announced today was the creation of E-PRO a new clinic with headquarters in New Jersey and programs that provide former athletes and others with cutting edge preventive and proactive medical and age intervention programs. P.A.S.T. TEAMS a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization also announced expansion to now include concussion education programs for high school, college players and other athletic groups conducted by former NFL players.
A group of retired NFL players spanning generations traveled to Indianapolis the site of Super Bowl XLVI to help kick off the new concussion treatment program and the other initiatives. Many of the participating players suffer from horrific issues related to traumatic bran injury as well as other medical, addiction and behavioral health issues. Players included; Ray Lucas (NY Jets), Christian Okoye (Kansas City Chiefs), Sean Salisbury (Minnesota Vikings), Charlie Brown (Washington Redskins), Pat Harlow (New England Patriots).
P.A.S.T. will begin player registration for phase one the new concussion program February 5th, Super Bowl Sunday, through the organizations web site www.pastusa.com or by phone (877) 614 -7278.
The initial phase of the new program can be started by a player from home. The program is tailored to each specific person and utilizes a unique combination of diagnostics, advanced blood work, specialized diets, supplements, therapy, player to player support systems and in some cases hormone replacement therapy when medically indicated. The program was designed so a player could initially engage with the program from home. Some players will even have the opportunity to have a phlebotomist do their initial blood draws for the program testing at their homes.

Many players who have used these types of protocols have seen significant improvement in
symptoms such as energy, depression, mood swings, sleep disturbances, chronic pain and more.
They have experienced relief of symptoms and restoration of quality of life.
For some former NFL players HGH (Human Growth Hormone) and Testosterone have played a significant and successful role in treating their concussion related symptoms. The new program incorporates extensive testing of hormone levels and Hormone Replacement Therapy when medically indicated.
A 2007 ESPN Outside the Lines story called attention to several players who were successfully using these substances to treat their symptoms. Former New England Patriot, Pat Harlow now a patient of the new P.A.S.T. program was seen in that story and says “The concussions I have had are in double digits and the pain from all my injuries excruciating. This type of treatment addressed both and restored the quality of my life. This new program will be a game changer”. Brad Leggett former New Orleans Saint also featured in the ESPN program is now a patient and a player counselor for the P.A.S.T. concussion program says “I have been using this type of protocol for over 12 years and it saved my life. It is ironic that substances banned by the NFL and other sports leagues can provide relief of symptoms and improve health. There has been a lot of focus and money being spent on research. What P.A.S.T. is doing is about immediately treating symptoms and getting guys to feel better now. That is what is exciting about this program”.
This unprecedented program is being made possible to retired NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB players and others by the vision and generosity of Dr. William J. Focazio, the New Jersey based founder and CEO of the P.A.S.T., Retired Athletes Medical Group. To date the organization has provided over 3 million dollars in donated medical, preventive and behavioral health care to retired athletes. Physicians and facilities all donate their time. The funding needed for travel and ancillary medical costs such as medications has solely been provided by Focazio. The new 501 (c) (3) P.A.S.T. TEAMS will now help to fund the ancillary medical needs.
Focazio in collaboration with Eternity Medicine Institute and Dr. Graham Simpson, one of the world’s leading specialists in preventive, age intervention medicine created E-PRO. It is a new, cutting edge clinic and collection of programs specializing in personalized proactive medicine. Programs are available to retired athletes exclusively through the P.A.S.T. organization and to the general public directly by the E-PRO clinic. Programs address issues such as Cardio Metabolic Health, Hormone Deficiency and Replacement, Weight Loss, Age Intervention and others. It was through this collaboration that the new concussion treatment program was created and is now executed.

Myself along with the medical team have been shocked by what we have seen with regards to players concussion related symptoms “said Dr. William J Focazio , Founder CEO of P.A.S.T, and E-PRO. “ I knew I had to do something”.
An initial group of retired NFL players began phase one of the program last year that included; comprehensive testing, physical exams, neurophsycatric evaluations, blood work, and consultation with specialists. Through the program many players also receive cutting edge, proprietary blood work that was created specifically for the program in conjunction with the state of the art Bio Physical Lab Corporation and Eternity Medicine Institute. Both have exclusively partnered with P.A.S.T. and E-PRO for this program.
“Having worked hands on with hundreds of players suffering from concussion symptoms and watching them needlessly suffer has been gut wrenching” said Jennifer Smith Director of Player Programs for P.AS.T and E-PRO. “Over the last year it has been astonishing to witness the improved quality of life that elements of this program have provided. The program will have a significant impact on so many former players that suffer in silence and have been unable to successfully address their symptoms “
The program is expected to have a significant impact on the lives of many former NFL players who suffer and will soon be available to the general public.
